If you love dependable recipes that taste like home without hours in the kitchen you’re in the right place.
How My Journey Started
Before launching Margaretkitchen.com, I spent years working as a meal-planning consultant, helping families simplify their weekly cooking routines. I also taught beginner-friendly cooking classes at local community centers an experience that showed me how many people feel overwhelmed in the kitchen.
Seeing someone realize “Wow… I can actually cook this!” is one of the most rewarding feelings in the world. That spark is what inspired me to build this website.
I earned my degree from The University of Michigan, where I honed strong communication and organization skills tools I use daily to create clear, reliable, and well-tested recipes for readers like you.
A Personal Look Into My Life
I was born on July 22, 1983, and some of my earliest memories revolve around food. I grew up surrounded by the cozy flavors of classic American home cooking freshly baked bread, bubbling casseroles, and big pots of stew that brought everyone together. My grandmother taught me that food is love, and that philosophy guides everything I cook today.
Now, I live in Seattle, Washington, with my husband and our two energetic kids. They’re my built-in taste testers, my creative inspiration, and sometimes the reason I have to remake a recipe three times before it’s “kid-approved.” Every dish I publish is tested in my real family kitchen so you know it truly works.
My Food Philosophy
I believe great food doesn’t have to be complicated. My approach is built on:
- Real, fresh ingredients
- Balanced meals the whole family will enjoy
- Plenty of veggies
- Good proteins
- And yes… the occasional indulgent dessert
Cooking is my form of self-care, creativity, and connection. I want you to feel confident in your kitchen whether you’re whipping up a 20-minute skillet dinner or slow-cooking a Sunday roast.
